Job description
Overview:
We are seeking a dedicated and skilled Tow Truck Driver to join our team. The ideal candidate will have a strong mechanical background and experience in automotive repair, along with excellent driving skills. As a Tow Truck Driver, you will be responsible for providing roadside assistance, transporting vehicles, and ensuring the safety of both the vehicles and their owners. This role requires a commitment to customer service and the ability to handle various situations with professionalism.
Duties:
- Operate tow trucks, including flatbed and traditional models, to transport vehicles safely.
- Drive vehicles in accordance with traffic laws and regulations.
- Load and unload vehicles using proper techniques to prevent damage.
- Perform basic automotive diagnostics and repairs as necessary.
- Provide excellent customer service by assisting clients in distress and addressing their needs effectively.
- Manage conflicts calmly and professionally when dealing with customers or other drivers.
- Maintain accurate records of services provided, including vehicle condition reports.
- Conduct routine inspections and maintenance on tow trucks to ensure they are in safe working condition.
- Utilize mechanical knowledge to troubleshoot issues that may arise during towing operations.
Experience:
- Proven experience as a Tow Truck Driver or in a similar role is preferred.
- Strong mechanical knowledge with the ability to perform basic automotive repairs.
- Experience driving manual transmission vehicles is a plus.
- Familiarity with automotive diagnostics and repair processes is advantageous.
- Excellent conflict management skills to handle challenging situations effectively.
- A valid driver's license with a clean driving record is required.
- Previous experience operating flatbed tow trucks is beneficial.
